NOthing much has happened. except now i have a cambridge questionnaire to fill in. it's quite annoying. I'm probably not even gonna get in after ALL this. :(
I also have huge bruises EVERYWHERE from paintballing.
IT WAS IMMENSE!!!! but painful. LOL!
what else what else... nothing much tbh.

WHOOPEE

MY LIFE IS COMPLETE... well, no it's not actually, but i feel quite happy!
MY UCAS FORM HAS BEEN SENT OFF. UCAS is the system through which we apply to university, and my headmistress has just okay-ed mine, and now it's been sent off to the universities! after months of filling in forms and writing personal statements, IT IS FINALLY OVER. and now i can't do anything about my university application except wait for offers and interviews.. scariness.
LOL!
had a meeting with mr livesey today, and apparently mr walker (deputy headmaster) emailed him to ask him if he could help me with my cambridge application. mr. livesey is our careers teacher and he went to queens' college cambridge, which is where i am applying :D AND! he has been so helpful! he says he has the queens college law magazines and has offered to lend them to me! :O and he's got this barrister to agree to come and give me a mock interview if i get an interview offer from cambridge, and she used to go to cambridge for law as well!!! excitement'' though..if i don't get asked for an interview...it'll be rather sad :(
Nothing exciting has happened so far, except that i've been back at school for two weeks now.
Last weekend i went to hannah's house with sanchia and sophie for a movie night sleepover. LOL! we watched the matrix back to back. how cool is that. and then the next day, sanchia and i went into the city to watch dorian gray.. LOL! our eyes were ready to kill us.
this weekend i'm going paintballing. HOW COOL IS THAT! i have never been paintballing before! it's gonna be exciting! IT's tomorrow, and it's like amy's very very belated birthday thing, and 8 of us are going to this forest in thetford and PAINTBALLING. AHHHHHH! LOL!!!! apparently it might hurt cuz they are like hard pellets of paint. BUT STILL. it'll be fun.
I also have a debate competition coming up in december, which is a long time away, but time does fly, so it'll probably get here soon. what else what else....
nothing much really. except that lainey promised to email me today with explicit details of a mysterious issue, and she hasn't, so i'm rather disappointed.
and... everyone's passing their driving tests and getting new cars. I WANT ONE. LOL!!! but i highly doubt that'll be possible. but my dad did say i can get a digital camera for my birthday :D SO YAYY
I'M GONNA BE 18 SOON!
that's so old :(

so little time :(

I seriously need to find out where time goes after it's done with us little people!! Completely knackered. LOL!
Went to the end-of-summer party in Loddon on Thursday. Met Courtney and Jack in the city at around 5, and then took a bus to Loddon, where we meet some of the others. Then we went to this field.. WITH COWS IN IT! i know.. it's weird. Apparently they do this every year, and there is a chosen spot, but the cows were pretty scary! LOL! Well, I didn't mind them much , 'cuz they looked alright to me, but Courtney was scared out of her wits. LOL! we had to go under this barbed wire to get to 'the spot' and she was like: OMG. JASMINE. THE COW'S COMING AT US. and i was like.. courtney. don't run. don't run. walk. LOL!!!! Luckily, no one got trampled by cows :D People started piling in after 8 and it was quite a lot of fun :D I was quite worried it was just gonna be drunken people on a field, but it turned out to be quite interesting. Loads of people I didn't know came, but they were super friendly, and slightly tipsy most of them - but hilarious tipsy not annoying tipsy. LOL! There was this guy who went on and on about steak and steakhouses. - must have been the effect of cows. LOL! IT was basically an immense night of forming one conversation group, and then forming another, and venturing here and there talking to people (trying to remember names, i am awful at names, it's not even funny). We tried to get a fire started.. but it was all in vain. Probably too much wind. AND! we didn't have dinner :( the only instruction was to bring your own booze, so no one thought about dinner. LOL! Courtney amy and I left around 11:30 to go to amy's house and sleepover. most people pitched tents and camped. But we did NOT fancy sleeping on a cold cold field. LOL!!!
Anyways, nothing has happened thus far. yesterday, i had a lovely chat with Josie on Skype, and then ky and jasper came along! LOL! i had to leave for dinner, and it took some time cuz there were some relatives visiting and we were having a proper meal. LOL! it was quite immense though! There was steak and lovely pudding :D Anyways! apparently jasper was horribly mean to ky, being the borpevil that he is. And that was all i gathered. OH, and jasper showed josie his snails, which she says are really cute.... why are people so fascinated by snails? why? - is it normal?
THEN! LOL! jasper invited his friend alif, into a conversation. and Ky invited his friend loh wee chuan (omg, i rmb his name. LOL!) into another conversation. My speaking-to-strangers-abilities was sorely tested. Though, alif was pretty good fun, and wee chuan was pretty much holding his own monologue, and i only needed to interject a few sentences here and there. JOSIE, fell asleep... the noob - am not impressed josie. i quote "sleeping is for losers". LOL!
Shall have to go to my charity shop soon to volunteer! after which there's a dinner party at this thai restaurant 'cuz it's my great uncle's birthday. Tomorrow I'll be going to London for my Pre-Lnat course. :( AT 6 AM IN THE MORNING. UGH UGH UGH. i will die. i will literally and quite for certain, die. LOL!!!
and monday's start of school. blehhhh. ah wells.
That's all for nowww

BLAH

back to school again next week, so not feeling up to it. It'll be lovely to see everyone again and it's not so much the actual lessons as the pressure!!
Applying to unis once school starts. horror. horror. horror. :(
October 15th is the deadline for oxbridge applicants.. HORRoR. HORROR>
okay. LOL!!!! i guess that's enough HORROR for now.
Nothing much happening. Watched ice age 3 today with charrlie mcfarrrrlie and amy :D it was COOL! - and the double meaning was intended too. hah. i'm so funny :P NOT.
anyways! it was hilarious, and i did enjoy it. I seem to enjoy kiddie movies a lot lately. it's scary.
Might be going to a party on thursday... not sure though. it's probably just gonna be a huge crowd of drunken people on a field. :P doesnt sound that appealing, but loads of people are going. LOL! and also, naveen is probably planning something on friday... so don't want tobe too knackered.
SUNDAY! i'm going to london again for a pre-lnat course. Lnat is the national law admissions test. basically most of the unis i'm applying to requires me to take the LNAT, and i thought i better find out what it is like first :P LOL! probably going with freya :D Which will be fun. But omg, the bus for london leaves at 6am or something :( not looking forward to waking up before god. Its the trains -.- they aren't working properly on Sundays. WHICH IS ANNOYING.
ah wells. I probably ought to go and try to read a bit of John Milton :( paradise lost... poetry and old english. joy oh joy. (but i;ve been told it's not too bad, so wish me luck!)
as jasper would say: K BYE.

Hi stranger

Yes. So it's officially... what? half a year since I last posted? LOL! :P
ANYWAYS! now i'm here, and that's what matters. LIVE IN THE NOW PEOPLE. :D
Currently sitting at a desk in Westminster, London at Policy Exchange (this thinktank for the government), and having nothing to do. LOL! see, i'm THAT efficient. I finished all my work in the morning. and now i'm stoning. joy.
London has been pretty good this week. Work in the afternoon and fun in the evening :D Last night i went to the palladium theatre to watch the sister act. it was IMMENSE. nothing to describe it.. just generally amazing.. everyone gave a standing ovation at the end. LOL!
I better explain why I'm in London... LOL! i'm doing work experience. Which is like a week (mon to fri) of unpaid work... It looks amazing on ur cv and universities like it. LOL! especially when it's somewhere cool. This holiday i've had work experience at... the easter daily press (the regional newspaper)! IT WAS THE MOST AMZING WORK EXPERIENCE EVER! because i was there the week of the by elections, loads of london ministers came down to little old norwich to support their candidates. So i got to go meet and interview them. people like david cameron (the most probable next prime minister, leader of the conservative party) *and he was so cool!* aand alistair darling (chancellor of the exchequer, so l;ike the person who governs t he money). I also got to meet the candidates which was pretty cool. but i didn't get to vote since i'm not 18 yet, so that was wasted.
THEN! i had work experience at East Anglian Chambers, which is like the place where barristers work. So i got to follow them into court and watch them fight cases. That was quite interesting, especially in criminal cases. Some of the defendants were PRETTTYYY WEIRD. :P AND! the funny thing is.. ALL THE PEOPLE IN THE COURT.. like the legal representatives, had Iphones. it was soo synchronised it wasn't even funny.
NEXT. i had work experience at colchester, the children's legal centre. that was pretty boring. didn't really do much. had to commute daily to colchester though, and that was a pain. Luckily, the rail strikes on that thursday and friday stopped me from having to go at the end of the week. Serependipity :D
Last Thursday I got my results back from the last batch of AS and A levels. I'm pretty content with them, so life is good. LOL! going back to school the week after the next... eeeps. AND I HAVE YET TO FINISH READING ALL MY LITERATURE BOOKS. but seriously... the books are quite rubbish. James joyce and virginia woolf? UGH. WHY DO PEOPLE LIKE THEM.
i shall stop ranting now.
LOL!

exams exams exams

weee, i haven't blogged in AGES!
Well, right now i've finished 6 of my 11 modules !!! :D YAY! did english literature today. I will never read Great Gatsby OR Wilfred Owen's poetry, ever again. EVER. well, unless i have to do a retake, which i'm really hoping i won't! Can i just say! i looked at the other questions, and we could have done Wuthering Heights!!!!! or Jane Austen!!! OR TESS! but noooo. we had to do Great Gatsby and Fitzgerald :( AND! we could have done william wordsworth instead of Wilfred Owen (depressing git)! But then again, I guess Great Gatsby is a shorter book compared to the others :D which makes it easier to remember, since it is a closed book exam. I HATE CLOSED BOOK EXAMS. two hours for two essays :( totally didn't have enough time to write about everything.
ANYWAYS! i am contemplating whether or not to go on the New York trip next easter. We're having a sixth form visit to New York and Boston (and we'll be visiting harvard as well :O) BUT!! its like £1500!!!! which is quite a lot in terms of pounds, and in chinese money.. its even worse. LOL! Daddy says its fine. BUT!!! i feel so guilty :( like a guilty thing :( i actually threw the consent form in the bin to be a nice daughter, but no! my granddad was emptying my bin the next day, and he found it :( and then he talked to my grandma, and my grandma talked to my dad, and my dad found out. and now i'm gonna have to talk to him and tell him why i threw it away... and then he';s gonna getmad at me for throwing away an opportunity! AHHHHH! it's difficult having a conscience. i might just throw it away. and succumb to the pleasure principle of the id. stupid superego :( yeah, that was psychology jargon for you! LOL!
anyways, preparing for a half term holiday now before my last 4 modules (maths and chemistry)! on monday till tuesday i'm going to sanchia' lord of the rings' sleepover. yes. we WILL be watching lord of the rings back to back, 11 hours. WHOOOTS! and hten thursday i'm doing this chinese buffet thing with courtney! AND YES. revising for chemistry and maths :( joy joy joy joy.

anyways, i'm gonna pop off now :D

My sentiments exactly!

It's not the fault of student if
he/she fails because the year ONLY
has 365 days...
typical academic year for a student:

1. Sundays - 52 Sundays in a year, you know Sundays are for rest.
Days left 313.

2. Summer holidays - 50 where weather is very hot and difficult to study.
Days left 263.

3. 8 hours daily sleep - 130 days GONE.
Days left 141.

4. 1 hour for daily playing- (good for health) means 15 days.
Days left 126.

5. 2 hours daily for food & other delicacies (chewing properly & swallowing) - means 30 days.
Days left 96.

6. 1 hour for talking (man is a social animal) - means 15 days.
Days left 81.

7. Exam days - per year at least 35 days.
Days left 46.

8. Quarterly, half yearly and festival (holidays) - 40 days.
Days left 6.

9. For sickness - at least 3 days.
Days left 3.

10. Movies and functions- at least 2 days.
1 day left.

11. That 1 day is your birthday.
How can you study on that day ?!?!?!?!?!

25 random things about singapore youths

a list of ‘25 Random Things About Singapore Youth’:
1) They speak to me softly in perfect English, then turn around and scream in Singlish to their friends.
2) They SMS with a speed and frequency that makes my own thumbs sore from sympathy pains.
3) They admit they are apathetic, and speak about it passionately.
4) They complain about the lack of culture on their school campuses, then immediately go back to studying.
5) They wear their emotions and intentions on their chests in the form of T-shirt sayings. A few of my favourites: ‘Little Miss Giggles’, ‘I SMS Your Mum’ and ‘Are We Having Any Fun?’
6) They are extremely quiet in class, but downright chatty one-on-one.
7) They love David Beckham. They lust after George Clooney.
8 ) Apparently, procreation is not their forte. At this point in their lives, they could not care less.
9) Marriage is not yet on most of their minds. Instead, they say they want to keep getting red packets of some kind.
10) Romance is not an art many young males here have mastered. I recently overheard two young women complaining that their boyfriends had surprised them on Valentine’s Day with gifts - a schoolbag and an external hard drive.
11) They are incredibly, falsely, modest. They know they rock. Just don’t tell them to their face. They’ll look at you like you insulted their mother.
12) They are way too polite. I asked a young woman to take my picture in front of the Merlion. After she snapped the shot, she thanked me - apparently for the once-in-a-lifetime chance to capture me on film.
13) Speaking of photos, they pose for them everywhere. I recently saw a group of students smile for multiple pictures with their taxi driver at Clarke Quay. He was smiling too. The meter was running.
14) A few engage in ’serious blogging’, but most just blog about their friends and pets and upload pictures of last night’s dinner.
15) They are very productive during classes - at catching up with friends on MSN Messenger and updating their Facebook status.
16) They remain sceptical of their country’s growing global status, often asking me ‘Why would you want to come here?’
17) They already express nostalgia for days gone by, at the ripe old age of 17.
18) The few young men who have long hair seem to be teased mercilessly by friends, and hit on frequently by strangers.
19) They catch catnaps at the most unlikely locations - bus stops, campus canteens, even the school library.
20) Their eyes have a tint of worldliness to them, especially the young men who have been through national service.
21) They passionately watched something called ‘The Little Nyonya’ until recently, but not all will admit it publicly.
22) They think it is funny that Singapore has a professional basketball team.
23) They love their parents, but they definitely do not tell them everything.
24) They love to dance …
25) But it does not mean they have rhythm. This list may be random, but they make modern Singaporean youth truly an enigma - a mystery I cannot help but gawk at and adore.

-> this was by a visiting professor to singapore. and omg, it is hilarious! but, what is little nyonya?

Judge Sit-IN

Today i went to the crown court to sit-in with a judge. it was quite cool! got to watch a few trials. It got a bit boring as the things progressed because they were all the same type, (deciding on the place and time of the actual trial), but then this really interesting trial came up. This lady who represented herself (she didn't have a professional barrister or lawyer or anything) and who was clearly a bit mentally unstable came on as the defendant and was accused of common assault. everyone in the court room was half-exasperated and half-amused. She was clearly going to lose the case, but of course, she didn't realise that and went on with such conviction. I felt really sorry for her, but one couldn't help but be amused :P The judge was really nice and had a nice chat with me afterwards. :) Another judge let me read a case file, and omg, THERE IS SO MUCH PAPERWORK. LOL! he was going to ask me how i would sentence the person in question, but luckily, we never got there. BECAUSE I WOULD HAVE HAD NO IDEA HOW TO ANSWER. LOL! it was my first time sitting in a courtroom, and wow, it was quite formidable. With the wigs and everything!! and your honours, and OBJECTION! and stuff like that :P aren't i superficial. LOL!
Anyways, nothing much has happened. I'm on holiday now, and have made a study plan that i have yet to follow and a week is already nearly over :( i am such a procrastinator, it's not even funny. OH. and lainey got to see aaron yan and shake his hand. i am actually so jealous. though, i have to say, i'd rather see jin zhen xun. LOL! yes, that korean guy from lian ai bing fa. that is actually a brilliant drama. another brilliant drama i've been conned into watching is Hana Yori, it's like the new korean verison of meteor garden. AND IT IS AMAZING. LOL! i watched it for a whole night without sleeping. stupid ky, his fault. :( and now i swear never to watch shows like that again. it reminds u of how sad reality is. LOL!
OH, and josie jj and I talked to GLADYS. yes, ky's girlfriend. and she laughed at me :( sniffs. LOL! and i so totally embarrassed myself. heh.
that's about all for now!!!

HOLIDAYS!

Spring is coming!!! tralalalalala!!!
It doesn't really feel like it, apart from the flowers and trees. The leaves are coming back again, and daffodils are appearing! But, it's still cold, and now its windy and rainy. ah wells. The rhyme does go: March Winds and April Showers bring forth may flowers!
The worst thing is, I'll be going on my expedition in the middle of may. Basically it's like a camping trek (on our own, a group of 7) to some wilderness with huge backpacks for like 5 days. need to make our own food, set up camp, and have a purpose and walk A LOT. luckily, in april, it's just the training expedition, so it'll be only for 3 days. but i hear that it kills :( ah wells. wish me luck!
The holidays are coming now too!!!! WHOOOTS! tomorrow is final assembly!!!! and then funfunfun. well, actually, there'll be a lot of studying, cuz once we come back, we'll be hit with a flood of mocks and our next AS levels (or in the case of further maths, our A levels) :( sadness.
Hopefully, it won't be too bad :P Had our debate today, it went pretty okay. we debated for PROSTITUTION TO BE LEGALISED. LOL!!! very controversial :P
OHOH! and hte school is planning a sixth form trip to New York and Boston next easter holiday!!! WHOOOTS! and and, we'll be visiting places like harvard, and american schools and so on and so forth. am so very excited!!!!! :)
am gonna go now.

BOO

I realised my blog might go into a dead silence again. So here i am to liven it up with my illuminating presence :D
Thursday evening, I had a great skype chat with Ces josie jj and ky. LOL! it was hilarious!!! it was really good to catch up with everyone and i can't believe CEs came online!!! it almost never happens, so that was amazingly amazing! jasper was supposed to come and chat, but that noob didn't have his laptop on him, and downloaded the new skype so no one could call him. LOL! act high tech.
Then! jj josie ky and I played viwawa bridge. LOL! i haven't played bridge for SOOO long. it was so much fun. :D though, i didn't do very well :( i blame it on not having played it for ages.
Today we had a dinner party, and i explored the greatness that is google map. AND! i saw holland road.AND, clementi ave 1 where nan hua is. and omg, the wave of nostalgia that hit me. I MISS NAN HUA! and everyone, even the people who are horrible!
this morning and afternoon i had a shopping spree with sanchia which was really good, and i've spend loads but feel so unguilty about it cuz i bought some AMAZING stuff!!! :D afterall, one has to relieve stress some time! then we discussed debate, which we felt rather pleased about. we're supporting legalising prostitution. so much easier to argue, though maybe morally incorrect.
I have so much work to do and so little time to do it.. its unbelievable. have to find time to write an english essay tomorrow after going to the riverside swimming pool with naomi. we're volunteering to teach disabled kids to swim for our CSLA project. LOL! i haven't swam in ages, probably going to drown and die. :P
AND. it'll probably be really cold. sniffs. i'll catch pneumonia and die. all this death talk is depressing. going to go now
TATA!!!

ARGH

IT's been a rather good weekend! Went shopping with Sanchia before work and then went to Nav's for a sleepover. I ATE A WHOLE TUB OF BEN AND JERRYS. omg. i am going to grow fat and die. But, i do have a lot of blisters :( i am not sure how that balances things out, but ah wells.
I am a little bit annoyed today though. Maybe because i'm over reacting from lack of sleep. honestly, i slept at like 5 this morning and woke up at 9. LOL. though that really my fault. GOt home around 6, desperately neededto sleep, but had loads of work to do. But, i still took time off to try and talk to someone i hadn;t talked to in ages. Though now, i honestly dont think i should have bothered. I don't know how many times I've said this, but I am now officially honestly totally sick and tired of trying.I am repeating myself. BUT. still. this time i am so dead serious. I contemplated blocking and deleting, but that would be a little bit childish, and even after all this rubbishness, i still don't want to severe all communication. (though it probably wouldn't have made a difference). I don't even know if I'm just being not understanding and a hag, but now i don't care anymore. IT'S SO ARGHISHLY DISPPOINTING! i give up.

sorry, i just had a very strong desire to rant or else spontaneously combust from indignance and anger. I would cry if i thought it was worth it. ah wells. Maybe that's what's supposed to happen. maybe everyone wil end up like that in the end. lahdeedah... this is depressing.

ANYWAYS. ermm... really, nothing very exciting's been happening. I got my results back and they were okay. Can't wait for the Easter Holidays though. Need time to sleep relax and catch up with work. (not tomention the fact that when easter comes, i'll be able to eat chocolate!!!) I am not even kidding, i actually do have chocolate withdrawal symptoms. Nav bought like caramel ice cream. and everyone else had to take away the chocolate bits in them before they'd let me eat it. AHHHHH! and i'm not even christian. hmffffffff. next year i'm giving up something easier for lent. like..... eating walkers chips, prawn cocktail flavour specifically. :D but that might be cheating. hee.

i've just finished psychology!! really don't want to get into the shower. my feet are going to revolt and kill me with pain. i have like 3 HUGE blisters on each foot. stupid stupid shoes. They used to be comfortable!!! I was going to burn them. but Sanchia suggested hammering them with a meat hammer cuz it might soften the shoes. ANd it'll be painful for them too. so i'm going to try that. LOL!!!! i'll look half-crazed. but after walking in them for so long. i am entitled, i think. :P

Computers, Men or Women?

A language teacher was explaining to her class that in French, nouns unlike their English counterparts, are grammatically designated as masculine or feminine.

"House" in French, is feminine -"la maison," "Pencil" in French, is masculine "le crayon."

One puzzled student asked, "What gender is computer?" The teacher did not know, and the word was not in her French dictionary.

So for fun she split the class into two groups appropriately enough, by gender and asked them to decide whether "computer" should be a masculine or a feminine noun.

Both groups were required to give four reasons for their recommendation.

The men's group decided that computer should definitely be of the feminine gender ("la computer"), because

1) No one but their creator understands their internal logic
2) The native language they use to communicate with other computers is incomprehensible to everyone else
3) Even the smallest mistakes are stored in long term memory for possible later review
4) As soon as you make a commitment to one, you find yourself spending half your paycheque on accessories for it.

WAIT, IT GETS BETTER....

The women's group, however, concluded that computers should be masculine "le computer") because:

1) In order to do anything with them, you have to turn them on.
2) They have a lot of data but still can't think for themselves
3) They are supposed to help you solve problems, but half the time they ARE the problem
4) As soon as you commit to one, you realise that if you had waited a little longer you could have gotten a better model.

and, of course, the women won :D

Sleepy Again

I swear, the atmosphere here is making me sleepy. Honestly, it doesn't matter when it is, what day it is, how long i've slept, i'm sooo sleepy. it's not even real.
anyways. ASWIN IS NO LONGER ALLOWED TO SAY WHOOO! he has given up WHOO for lent. yes, it is a very cheating thing to give up. but ah wells.
AND! Kengyang has been a very mean git. he called me fat. and hten when itold him i was offended, he asked me: but aren't you?
it was very rude of him, wasn't it? therefore i'm not talking to him anymore. not that he'll mind. LOL!
Saturday was a brilliant day. It was great fun going up to London for V20 interview. even if i don't get in, it'd be worth it cuz it was so fun :D AND i found out that the V20 crew get their own blackberrys, and they organise brilliant events with politicians and celebrities and DO SO MUCH to encourage young people to volunteer. It's too brilliant for words. which is why i'm probably never going to hear from them again.
OH and i'm getting my results back for my As levels this thursday. So if i dun blog anymore, it's because I';ve done miserably am too busy wallowing in self-pity and anguish. LOL!
shall go and do my english lit wilfred owen mindmap. wilfred owen is honestly the most depressing read EVER.

ALOHA

SLEEPY SLEEPY SLEEPY!!!
anyways, today during break. Ms Nimmo (our head of sixth form) told us that next year summer we're gonna have a sixth form trip to NEW YORK. ain't it cool :D LOL!!
no, i can't quite do the country western accent, but ah wells.
I THOUGHT, with ces' three long tags, I'd better reply in a post for fear of overloading cbox with my long long long long rants.
I think it's more likely everyone's going to leave me in England. Apparently liwen's eloping with Josie to NUS, and abandoning me :( the evil person. Not called dark side for nothing i guess. AND! disney on ice!!!! They look so pretty skating. Though i have to say, I;ve never watched an actual ice skating performance, but i bet it'll be AWESOME. Please do not complain about the weather in Singapore. Until you come to england, you do not understand what horrible weather means. The weather here is so bad that people use it all the time to start conversations. A normal conversation with a stranger/someone u don't know well starts like this in England: UGH. awful weather isn't it? or "ugh, it's raining again" or "AH, it's so cold!". LOL!
honestly, want a pinch of good weather? England's not the right place. It's lovely and wonderful in lots of different ways, but definately loses out on the weather aspect. I told my friends here how sunny and warm singapore is and they were like: wow. paradise. :D Honestly, loads of them want to come to singapore now.
I need to go eat dinner now :D

YAWNS

I am literally going to keel over and die. Just got home from quiz and cheese. Basically it's like a general knowledge quiz with parents, teachers and students. we were one of 5 sixth form teams. It was rather fun, didn't know much, but ah wells. LOL! pigged out loads though. BUT! Katie brought Rocky Road. and omg. they looked gorgeous. Fabulously chocolatey dreamy choclate with spongy chewy marshmellow. why why whywhy. WHY DID I GIVE UP CHOCOLATE?honestly, i nearly gave up. everyone said i should. but no. i shall stay strong. like a strong person. yes, i'm very good at description, metaphors and imagery. LOL!
going up to London on saturday for a V20 interview. Basically,V is a voluntary organistion that sort of co-ordinates and manages voluntary work around the country. V20 is it's youth advisory board made of 20 people across the country who make the big decisions and direct the organisations. It sounds pretty cool. i saw it online one day and was like woah! They get to do really cool stuff like organise voluntary workshops/courses/residentials and Gordon Brown (the british prime minister) had lunch with them. AND, the organistion building is in the same area as all those government and big organistion areas (westminster). REALLY EXCITED!!!! sent in my application for fun, didn't actually think i'd get in. THEN when i got the letter, i was like. O. M. G. IT's quite scary though cuz i have to do a task, a 3 min presentation about myself and an interviewww.. ahhhh. wish me luck xD
Last night, i went to the theatre with Sanchia to watch J.P Priestly's : AN INSPECTOR CALLS. it was quite brilliant. At the point where all the characters realised how horrible they were, the house they lived in literally fell over and all the plates on the table broke. It was very very dramatic. I can't quite explain it. It was like a HUGE doll house that opened up. AND THERE WAS SUCH A HUGE TWIST IN THE TALE. i suggest everyone should read/watch it. I have become an avid theatre-goer. It is brilliant! Sanchia and I have already planned our next theatre visit: Waiting for Godot. Don't really know what it's about, BUT! it has ian mckellen is in it, AND patrick stewart. A cast like that is to die for. For those who are wondering who Ian Mckellen is,(i was until i saw his picture!) : GANDALF. YES. GANDALF :D AHHHHHHH!!! I Am GOING TO SEE GANDALF!!! :D
OH! and today i found out one of my friends actually interviewed STEPHEN fRy. OMG. STEPHEN FRY!!! LIKE U NOE, QI!!! JEEVES AND WOOSTER!!! AND OMG. ALL THE FUNNY LOVELY SHOWS EVER. STEPHEN FRY. okay. i shall have to calm down now.
btw, just now, just a second ago, my IE just closed down for no apparent reason, and i was like omg omg omgomg. CUZ I HAD TYPED SO MUCH!! and I thought i'dlost it all. and i was about to kill blogger and never ever blog again. BUT THEN. THIS WONDER THING ACTUALLY AUTO SAVED MY POST... AHHHH!!! I LOVE BLOGGER. IT IS BRILLIANT :D whoever invented autosave is the best thing since sliced bread! I don't even know why people use that phrase. sliced bread isn't that amazing. bread is okay, but i could always slice it myself. though, there is a point in that if a piece of bread isn't sliced properly, it can't be toasted. THEN AGAIN, someone could always invent better toasters. I don't know. Its 3 minutes to 11pm. I am dead-beat. ANd i think i should go to sleep before i embarrass myself further!

GOODNIGHT ALL. XXXXXX

Wheee

It's nearly 11 o'clock, and I should really go to sleep. am going to wake up at like 6 am tomorrow to get to the forum at 7:30 to set up our stall for young enteprise. It's gone a bit messy, and i've spent the whole week trying to clear it all up, and it's bloody irritating cuz i haven't done any school work :(
Anyways, went out today with Katie to watch Shopaholic. OMG. it's amazing. i'm never going to date until i meet that brandon person. LOL!!! actually, i might just never date, fullstop. :P
ANYWAYS. it's lent. On shrove tuesday we ate loads of pancakes and nearly died of pancake-overdose. BUT. i'm giving up chocolate for lent. i know. omg. omg. omg. CHOCOLATE? i'm not sure if i'll make it. what if i suffer from withdrawal symptoms? It's just that people tell me during lent, people usually give up something they really like (something that might not be all that healthy and a bit indulgent), and i thought about what i really really like and want to eat everyday, and then i said CHOCOLATE. and then it was too late. So, I'm not going to eat chocolate for 40 days. It's so sad. the sick thing is, that day I had a snicker bar, and I had to give it to Priya :( the lucky girl. AND THEN, after that, during our further Maths class, kirsty for some strange reason had decided to bake this brilliant chocolate cake with chocolate stick and chocolate icing. it looked fit for a cafe. and the pieces were HUGE. she brought them for the further maths people... and.. everyone had one :( except amy and me. Amy had given up cake. LOL!! but, having given up chocolate, i couldn't have it. it was horrible. if i could imagine hell, that'd be it. Mr. Perry made a big show of enjoying it, the horrible man. AND NAVEEN! she didn't even eat her piece, she just left it on her table, SO I HAD TO SEE IT ALL DURING THE LESSON. i know. apparently she was saving it for break, but honestly. the agony.
but, my grandma's given up all alcohol except wine and grandpa's given up ice cream. i am determined that on Easter, I am going have a chocolate fondue. then die of chocolate-overdose, if that's possible. can one have too much chocolate??? hm...
TOMORROW is the february market, and We're selling mothers' day mugs that we nicely made with lots of great stuff in it. AND our hoodies. it's going to be brilliant!!! weeeee. and next week is Quiz and Cheese! and then Inspector calls, sanchia tells me its a wonderful play, and I am going to watch it with her. so exciting week ahead.

LOVE U ALL,
JASMINE xxxx

Gap Year

I've just completed my work experience placement in John Lewis, and it was so much fun. It was rather sad to leave actually, but the Registrar actually called me to her office and told me if i wanted a part time job at John Lewis during my holidays, I should apply and mention i did work experience there. so that's my summer job sorted. LOL!!!
EAST ANGLIAN CHAMBERS replied with an acceptance! I HAVE OFFICIALLY GOT LAW WORK EXPERIENCE XD how cool is that. and because its the chambers, i'm guessing they have barristers there too. whooopeee
Anyways, I think i'm going to take a Gap year. meaning after sixth form, i'll be taking off for a year and then go to university the year after. it does mean that it'll be harder to get a place, but ah wells. I'm planning to apply to deloittes on their scholars scheme. It's pretty cool. you work for them with no strings attached (don't have to go back after graduation), they give u pay and money to travel. Then at ur university, you have to publicise them, and then work for them for a while during some of ur holidays. But it's really hard to get into. ah wells. AND THEN. i hope to go to Ghana and do Law and Human Rights. Basically, fight for women's rights, children's rights and create awareness. well, either Ghana or Ethiopia, and either law or journalism. But i think i'm pretty set on human rights :D it'll be great!
BUT! of course, I'll come and visit dear Singapore, and China as well!
WHOOTS. it's all planned out. but with my luck, it'll probably fall apart some time soon. yawns.
need to go for lunch and then my volunteering work at BHF. which reminds me, I'm meeting the youth coordinator of voluntary norfolk on tuesday to discuss how i can volunteer and maybe even the possibility of a voluntary residential to complete my duke of edinburgh award. whoots.
went to look for camping stuff as well for my expedition. but couldn't find nice things.THEY'RE ALL SO BIG. :( and the thing is... i've put on weight :( AHHHHH. no more eating. well... except for lunch now. i mean, u'd die without lunch. right? LOL!!!

work work work

just got back home from my work experience at John Lewis Publications (otherwise known as the chronicle). The guys there are really good fun, and it's rather relaxed and funny XD so all's good. I'm nearly done with my article, and it's looking good :D i've found the amazing-ness that's quark, AND the John Lewis Partners' Dining Room. the food is good!!! :D and that's one of the most important things ever. food.

I've been taking photos, editing, writing articles, and designing the magazine pages. and i have to say, it sounds like a lot, but we always manage a lot of spare time where we sort of don't do anything at all but mess around. which is good :D

EXCEPT, the hours are like 9 -5 so i seriously haven't got time to do work :( need to write essay!! ahhh...

gotta go for supper. :D it smells good! yay!

Amazing-ness

3 amazing things happened today, well, i'm only going to talk about 3 of them.
IT SNOWED. omg, it was just soo pretty, and i spent such a long time in it i'm going to get pneumonia but ah wells. SERIOUSLY! it was like being in a snow globe. seen it a few times now, and STILL can't get over it. but honestly, how can anyone not love snow :D
AND! i just got a work experience at John Lewis Publicatons!! for the whole of next week. and it's going to be so cool! i'm gonna have to dress up like a business person everyday and go around interviewing people!!! and then!! next next week they'll publish the article i'll be working on!! AHHHHHH!!! :D happiness!!! it's rather long hours though, 8:55 to 5:40, won;t have time to do anything else, and i really need to get that sociology essay done. I guess sunday's gonna have to be a working day :( AND! i think i might be getting a day with a judge :P AMAZINGNESS.
ohoh, and ... an... i can't actually remember what that third amazing thing was (no, not because it wasn't THAT amazing.. i just... got a bit caught up in the previous two amazing-ness)!! noooo!! what was it :(........ OH YEAH! i discovered, although the school blocks things like facebook, hotmail, msn etc (basically everything fun), THEY HAVEN'T BLOCKED BLOGGER! so i can actually blog in school during boring lessons! :D But, they do block cbox. strangely...
OH, the other day, i was feeling a bit ill, and put vitamin C in my bottle instead of water. AND! Sodd's law, my water bottle leaked. Yes, it was that nice small pink nike bottle from Singapore that i bought on my last visit and never seems to work properly. AHHHHH!! which means it leaked in my bag, and IT WAS VITAMIN C. I WAS SO UPSET. i actually just dumped the bottle into the bin. LOL! and i had to put all the paper that got wet on the table in maths class. My dear further maths people just laughed. tsk. it really wasn't that funny. well, not for me. bunch of unsympathetic people! but i do love them! we're gonna have a "I-have-had-too-much-maths-i-need-some-ice-cream-sleepover" and stuff our faces with ice-cream. That and the lord of hte rings and other movies sleepover Sanchia's planning because she stole MY lord of the rings box set from the charity shop. Though, to be honest, she did win it in a fair game of rock papers scissors lizards spock. BUT, the most irritating thing about that vitamin C thing was that it stained my oxbridge sheet thingy the worst of all and i had filled it in really nicely and am gooing to have a meeting with Mr. Walker tomorrow about the thing. NOW. i'm gonna probably have to re-write it on a piece of paper and explain to him that the actual form is too hideous to bear looking at.
I am so looking forward to half-term next week. Feel like going to NANDO'S and the movies to celebrate!!! and i am forcing everyone to watch benjamin button! WHY WATCH TOM CRUISE IN VALKYRIE :( Bolt or benjamin button! BBBBBBBBBBBB. i just realised they are all Bs. I am ranting now because i am really really tired. its 12:14 and i am very deprived of sleep (and getting rather pimply cuz of that) :( anyways, i shall go off to bed nowwww.

Lahdeedahh

Whooopee! i'm just sending off an email to organise a meeting with Mr. Walker, who's like an ex-oxford student and is helping with all the oxbridge potential applicants. THERE IS JUST SO MUCH TO PREPARE, and such a high chance it'll all be for nothing.
So far, i've shortlisted three colleges: Queen's College, Gonville and Caius, Corpus Christi. Hopefully, i'll be able to decide which after the open days in July. I CAN'T BELIEVE I'LL BE APPLYING THIS YEAR. wow. uni is sooo close! well, at least for some of us. for others, the daunting thought of baldness, hunger, toil, hardwork, sweat and blood are looming.. ahahaha! and there's no escape *scary music*
I am so going back to Singapore before uni, just to see the shiny heads and celebrate the induction into Uni :D
Going for an interview with John Lewis publications on thursday for work experience in the half-term holiday, which is literally like next week. Hopefully, that can be organised effectively, and then i can settle the dates to go for my volunteering meeting as well as my day in court with the judge. No, i am not being charged with pillage and murder... it'll be like a work experience thing.
I have 9 CVs out there now, and 4 rejections. the horror x( two more, and it'll be above half. hopefully, i'll get at least one acceptance, or i'll have to rethink my uni course.
BUT! to be fair, i don't really want to take law for law work. which is very strange, no? but then i'm like that. weird. heh.
NOW! i'm off to send my email, fill in my duke of edinburgh practise expedition form, eat dinner and then go for my ballroom dancing class. LETTS TAN, that noob, told sharon i was doing ballet -.- ballroom and ballet are a little different. just a little. (and no, i don't think it's funny that i'm doing ballroom dancing, at one point i tried out belly dancing. yeah. fine. laugh)

Toodles!

OUCH!

Today was a horrible morning. I was cycling to the Park and Ride in the morning to get my bus! And then, there was like a little bit of snow on the floor, and my back wheel was caught in that dratted white thing ( i love it usually, but not when it wants to murder me) and just suddenly stopped. The Laws of Physics chose that moment to hit me in the face with a sledgehammer and I literally flew off the bike, landing flat on the ground. Luckily i landed on the snow, so the fall wasn't that bad. BUT! my hands were like emerged in snow, and by the time i dusted myself off, my hands were tingling and numb beyond belief. Even taking my lock out of the bag was painful. I felt excruciating pain in my knees and when i got home today i saw this great lump of redness and blueness on my knee x( it's like the worst bruise i have ever had. And they say cycling is safe :(

ANYWAYS! got to school without anymore accidents, so YAY. LAST NIGHT! i received two rejection letters from Law firms saying their work experience placements were full :( rejection sucks. big time.
English essay to rush off, sociology essay to type out, critical thinking argument to be dragged out of my brain and lots of further reading to do. yawns!

Was going to Lucy and Ellie's Tight and Bright party this sat, but family commitments say NO.
x( ah welllssssss, might be watching The Curious Case of Benjamin Button with Salma et al (oh god, i'm using psychology terms in my posts. PSYCHOLOGY IS GETTING VERY BORING. AH!) in the morning on sat :D

printed out 6 CVs yesterday to send out to more law firms, put them nicely in envelopes, wrote the address out very neatly and put the stamp on perfectly. This morning, i woke up, strangely, with a big start: DAMN! I FORGOT TO SIGN THE COVERING LETTERS.
Yes, today after school i had to take every single CV out and sign them, and put them in another envelope and address them again. I thought these things only happened in Friends :(

I might be getting some hypnotherapy with Debbie, seriously need it. LOL! no, not for mental instability, but more like... general calmness. Maybe i should pick up meditation *ooommmm*

signing off,

Utter Frustration

I'm not a computer whiz or anything, but honestly... 2 hours to get blogger to work for me??!!!!
I have no idea why I suddenly had a desire to blog again, but it doesn't look very promising now.
So how come this is on the blog now?? I figured that since i took so long trying to get it work, I might as well post, so my efforts don't go to waste.
I have also decided to stick to the boring old blogger template because i just can't be bothered with others anymore. AND! i had this really nice snow-maker thing that's supposed to shower the blog with snow. I KNOW!!!! it was going to be brilliant. but blogger insists on being a twerp. what to do :(
Life is getting a bit busy, with law work experience, young enterprise, 2 english essays, a sociology essay etc. not exactly a great time to start blogging, but ah wells.
I was going to publish this really long post on what I've been up to and really interesting stuff, but battling with blogger has just totally drained me. Therefore I shall bid you adieu.

- some things will never be the same again
